ArtClusiv was born in Birmingham, England, out of both love and frustration. It started with one Black American artist who came to the UK and quickly saw how few spaces there were for people of colour to show their work… unless they lived in London. The talent was there, the creativity was alive, but the spotlight wasn’t. It felt like entire communities of artists were creating in the shadows, unseen by the very industry that claimed to celebrate diversity.
That realisation became the seed for ArtClusiv, a community-driven platform built to amplify and empower Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC) creatives across disciplines. From visual artists and musicians to designers, photographers, and performers, we exist to make sure their work is seen, valued, and paid fairly.
Today, ArtClusiv aims to offer workshops, mentorship, and training that will help artists navigate the business side of creativity, building portfolios, pitching projects, and accessing funding opportunities. We also work to collaborate with cultural organisations, brands, and galleries that want to partner with BIPOC artists in an authentic way.
We’re a community built on trust and shared purpose and we believe art has always been a mirror of culture, but too often that mirror has left out the people shaping it. ArtClusiv is here to change that, not through tokenism or trend, but through equity, opportunity, and visibility that lasts.
